The Worst Scandal in Presidential History

What has transpired in the tragic events surrounding September 11, 2012 in Libya amounts to the worst scandal in US Presidential history.  The information has come out step by step, day by day, as though God were meticulously exposing the facts of the case before a jury of the American public for us to render our verdict on election day, now one week away.

The picture that has unfolded is shocking, of an intense 7 hour terrorist attack on a woefully under-protected US consulate that should never have happened.  In fact, at every conceivable juncture where President Obama had any impact that could have averted the tragedy and preserved Americans’ lives, his decisions directly aided and abetted the terrorists.

In the six months leading up to 9/11/2012 there were several terrorist attacks attempted against this very consulate in Benghazi.  The whole surrounding region was volatile, a hotbed of extremism where anti-American fervor repeatedly erupted into violence.   Despite a bomb attack on the consulate on June 6, and Sec. of State Clinton supporting the consulate’s requests for increased security, Obama instead ordered a reduction in security at the site – no Marines present, and any security forces were not to keep live ammunition in their guns.  Obama reduced security down to a visibly diminished show of force, while neutering their ability to respond to any real security threats.

Not even the global significance of the anniversary of September 11 convinced Obama to adequately secure our consulate.  He left sovereign US territory in a known terrorist-active region understaffed and unprepared on the highest profile day of the year.  But the threat to Benghazi wasn’t merely regional.  On September 10, al-Qaeda chief Ayman al-Zawahri issued warnings of pending attacks on Americans in Libya to avenge the drone killing of an al-Qaeda official.  Libyan President Mohammed el-Megarif confirms he passed word of the pending al-Qaeda attack on to US diplomats at least 48 hours beforehand.

Inexplicably demilitarizing our Benghazi consulate in light of the monumental and urgent evidence to the contrary is a lapse of sufficient magnitude to completely disqualify Obama from any future leadership position in US government.  But unfortunately this is the mere prelude to the scandal...

A Pragmatic Experiment

I would sum up the Obama presidency thus:

A socio-political experiment to determine whether the stupidity of American voters is sufficient to observe a governing body empirically undermining the financial interests, national security, and personal liberties of these same people, undisguised and in plain view over the course of nearly four years, and yet still voluntarily support this ruling body in its bid to further expand its own power at the expense of the basic rights, freedoms, dignity, opportunity, and prosperity of the people.

The proposition this experiment aims to discover is whether the American’s hierarchy of values, his moral code, even his rational coherence as a sane member of society, are all up for sale for the mere price of economic demagoguery.  Has the price of the American soul been reduced to untenable promises, disproved mantras, self-refuting claims, free government cell phones, free condoms, and a PR-branding push that elevates willing supporters to an elite, righteous sanctimony, while labeling anyone who opposes the bizarre self-surrender to a hostile government with the most viscerally repugnant rhetorical sins: racist, murderer, xenophobic, lovers of wealth, haters of fellow humankind?

It is as though Mephistopheles has arrived on the scene of the downtown boulevard, picked up by the inuring glare of 10,000 cell phone cameras all streaming live, and his only question to the inquiring electorate is whether they’re in for a few free contraceptives?  WHAT SAY YOU, SOUNDS LIKE A GOOD DEAL?
